Many homeowners in the Winston-Salem area make the mistake of completely ignoring their lawns during the cold winter months. They mow one last time in the fall, rake up the leaves, and then clock out until spring. However, at Nature’s Select®, our select lawn care program includes seven applications for year-round lawn care, to produce the best lawn possible. So, although spring feels far away, now is not the time to ignore your lawn.

Crabgrass and Broadleaf Weed Control

In January through March, our team applies our Spring 1 formula that includes controls for crabgrass and broadleaf weeds. Weeds are a common problem in North Carolina and can contribute to future lawn care issues. These invasive species can germinate late in summer or fall, grow underground through winter and then emerge victoriously in the spring. Our formula will help your lawn combat these troublesome weeds to produce a beautiful lawn in the spring.

Fertilization

The cold weather months are the time of the year when food sources are stored in the root system and the plants are dormant. Our formula provides an excellent nitrogen source combined with organic and biological products that will supply your lawn with the nutrients it needs for future spring growth. So, even though you won't see immediate results above the ground, the underground root system is strengthened so it can better support new growth in the spring.

Pest Control

Finally, staying proactive about pest control in the cold months can help decrease potential problems in the spring and summer. At Nature's Select®, we believe that a true pest management program isn't about extermination and eradication, but rather about controlling the population of pests to limit the amount of damage done. We will coordinate a program that will build the health of your soil and plants while minimizing the damage wrought by pests.

At Nature's Select®, our select lawn care program works year-round to strengthen your plants by building healthy soil and utilizing the vascular system of the plant. Contact us today at (888) 786-9735 to request your free estimate and start attending to your lawn in the winter months!
