The Triad office is the franchise that proved biological lawn care could scale beyond a single founding location. New Garden Landscaping had been working on Greensboro properties for years before partnering with Nature's Select® in 2014 to add the biological lawn care program to its existing client relationships In the first five years, the Operating Unit grew from 300 to 1,200 customers — the kind of growth that only happens when the program actually works on the established clay lawns of Irving Park, Sunset Hills, Fisher Park, and Lake Jeanette. The office at 5577 Garden Village Way in Greensboro serves Guilford County, including Greensboro, High Point, Burlington, Summerfield, and Oak Ridge, and reaches west into Kernersville on the Forsyth County line.

The Triad's challenge is red clay that has been compacted by decades of synthetic-only programs on properties built in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Biological lawn care for these lawns means rebuilding the organic matter that decades of chemical- and synthetic-only inputs erased, calibrated to tall fescue's transition-zone struggles in summer. The Greensboro office applies Nature's Select® Solutions matched to what your lawn actually needs - not a generic N-P-K solution.
The Triad Operating Unit is the proof that biological lawn care scales beyond a single founding location. When New Garden Landscaping partnered with Nature's Select® in 2014, it brought decades of knowledge of Greensboro properties to its biological program. The growth from 300 to 1,200 customers happened because that clay rewards the soil-first approach more visibly than most soil types. Fescue lawns in Irving Park and Sunset Hills that had been on synthetic programs for years started recovering within the first 12-18 months of soil compounding. The summer brown patch pressure that runs May through August on Triad fescue gets monitored on every visit, with targeted fungicide applied only when measured pressure crosses the treatment threshold. The results on a typical established Greensboro lawn are visually distinguishable and measurably improved.

Located in the New Garden neighborhood near the Greensboro Country Club. Serving Greensboro, High Point, Burlington, Summerfield, Oak Ridge, and surrounding Guilford County communities since 2014.

Every service Nature's Select® offers across North Carolina is available across the Triad, calibrated to clay-loam soil and the cool-season/warm-season transition zone.
Year-round biological program of biological inputs, soil amendments, and regenerative soil health practices, calibrated to Triad clay-loam structure and the tall fescue dominance of established Greensboro neighborhoods.
Pre-emergent timing matched to Triad spring green-up, with split applications that respect clay-soil nutrient retention.
Core aeration for clay compaction recovery — essential on established lawns across Irving Park, Sunset Hills, and Fisher Park. Fall overseeding for cool-season fescue properties.
Pollinator-aware applications around Greensboro Country Club area properties, Lake Jeanette landscapes, and established Adams Farm homes. Soil-first nutrition for mature canopies.
Targeted treatment for army worms, chinch bugs, grubs, and sod webworms common to Triad turf.
Brown patch, Pythium blight, and more were identified on site across Triad fescue and warm-season turf.
The Triad sits in the cool-season/warm-season transition zone of North Carolina. From Kernersville to Burlington, soil, dominant grass, and seasonal pressure all behave differently here than in the Sandhills or the deeper Coastal Plain.

The Triad sits on Cecil clay-loam, the dominant Piedmont soil — red-brown clay over weathered rock that holds nutrients well but compacts severely on established lawns without aeration and organic matter inputs. Decades of synthetic programs accelerate that compaction, which is why our program leads with soil work on older Greensboro properties.

Tall fescue dominates established Greensboro neighborhoods like Irving Park, Sunset Hills, and Fisher Park. Bermudagrass anchors full-sun new construction and Summerfield-area properties, zoysiagrass is increasingly popular on drought-tolerant residential lawns.

Spring brings the pre-emergent window, spring green-up for warm-season turf, and fescue recovery from winter. Summer (May through August) is the peak for brown patch on fescue, plus drought stress. Fall pressure shifts to dollar spot and rust as nights cool — also the prime fescue overseeding window — and winter brings dormancy to warm-season turf while fescue stays green, and the team continues soil-building applications.
Greensboro's established neighborhoods hold some of the oldest lawns in North Carolina, and decades on that clay shape what those lawns need. That is why homeowners here choose the biological program.
Established Triad lawns sit on clay that has been compacted by 30, 40, or even 50 years of synthetic-only programs. The soil biology can be rebuilt — but only with soil amendments, core aeration, and organic matter inputs that synthetic programs lack. Our program leads with soil work specifically because the Triad's older properties need it most.
Synthetic fertilizer applications overload the clay, which already holds nutrients well, increasing runoff into the Reedy Fork and Haw River watersheds. The Triad's mix of older neighborhoods near established creeks (Buffalo Creek through Irving Park, North Buffalo Creek through Lake Jeanette) makes runoff management a community concern, not just an environmental one.
Greensboro summers run hot, humid, and dry through July and August — exactly when tall fescue is most vulnerable. Our soil-first program builds the water-holding capacity and root-zone biology fescue needs to better survive the Triad's hardest months..
Healthy biological soil suppresses many pressures (weeds, disease, and insects) before they cross a treatment threshold. In established Greensboro family neighborhoods where multi-generational households are common, fewer chemical inputs over many seasons is exactly what Triad customers ask for.
The Triad office is owner-operated by Matt Hunter of New Garden Landscaping — a Greensboro company that worked these same neighborhoods for years before partnering with Nature's Select® in 2014. The technicians on the truck know which streets have the most compacted lawns, which HOA properties switched to Bermuda in the last decade, and which Irving Park properties have been on the program since the partnership started. That continuity is unusual in the lawn care industry and impossible from a call-center model.
Affiliations with local, state, and national associations, including the NC State Beekeepers Association, drive our protocol for every visit: no broad spraying during bloom, the lowest effective rate, and the affected area only. Especially relevant on properties near the Bicentennial Garden, the Greensboro Arboretum, and the Tannenbaum-Sternberger Park area, where Triad residents have made pollinator habitat a visible community priority.
Specific neighborhoods, landmarks, and zip codes appear throughout this page where they are most relevant. Below are pictures of the franchise itself and the geographic territory the Triad office covers on a regular schedule.
The Triad Operating Unit is the first franchise in the Nature's Select® network and the proof that the biological program could scale beyond a single founding location. The 2014 partnership came together after years of conversations between Morris Newlin (past-owner of New Garden Landscaping) and the Nature's Select® team about adapting the program to Greensboro's mature clay properties. The growth from 300 to 1,200 customers within the first five years validated the partnership model that the Sandhills office (2018) and the Chapel Hill office (2025) now operate on as well. The Triad office at 5577 Garden Village Way is the operational center.
Founded: 2014 as the first Nature's Select® Franchise.

Jason with Nature's Select® is absolutely amazing! He's dealt with all our crazy requests, come back out several times, and made sure we've had everything we need. He's always easy to work with and talk to. Our yard hasn't looked this good in years either. We are excited for all the hard work he's put in and to see some of it come to fruition next year in the spring time! Please, please, please, work with them if you are looking for lawn care help. They will make your yard lush and green, and be able to answer all your questions. They are also super quick and a pleasure to work with.
Our lawn was taken over by crabgrass recently and needed some serious rehab. Matt came out and advised we would need to kill the lawn and start over, which sounded terrible but we had no real choice. The results have been excellent! The old lawn died out, and after some time (not nearly as long as I thought it would take thankfully) we have a new lawn. I would suggest listening to Matt's instructions, such as frequent watering of new seed, it made all the difference. Matt and team are easy to work with, great communication and transparency about what they plan to do. I appreciate the ease of texting directly with questions/concerns. Highly recommend :)
Nature's Select® has been handling our lawn maintenance for a number of years and we are extremely satisfied with their service. We routinely get compliments from our neighbors on our lawn and have directed several of them to Nature's Select®. Jason is our guy who handles our lawn and he is terrific. Informative, pleasant to work with and super knowledgeable. Always willing to answer questions and give advice and go that extra step to make customers happy!
We neglected our lawn for several years and it showed! It was thick with crabgrass, Bermuda, wild violets and clover, but very little fescue. I am glad that we called Nature's Select®. First, they killed all the weeds. They came back a couple of weeks later to aerate and seed with their high quality fescue blend. The seed started germinating in a week! After another 2 weeks, we have a beautiful, thick green lawn. These folks know what they are doing. They are very professional in both technical skill and customer service.
Tajae Brown is our service man and I am so pleased with his work ethic and honesty! He is the "face" of Nature's Select® and demonstrates his knowledge with his work every time he comes. Service with a SMILE which has been lost in today's service industry. Nature's Select® should be very proud to have him as a service tech!
We have been using Nature's Select® for years. All of the technicians who provide the different services are so helpful and knowledgeable about the lawn and tree and bush services. All my neighbors tell us our lawn and yard are beautiful.
Once again, Nature's Select® team has come through for us! Due to our recent weather, we had so much nutsedge growing in our yard. I gave them a call and they quickly showed up and sprayed my yard. All of it died within two days and my yard is now clear of it. They also sprayed for brown patch fungus. I'm sure that too will soon be gone but it takes a short while longer. We are so thankful to Jeremy and team for the fabulous work they do and how much they know.
Shoutout to Jason with Nature's Select®! He does an incredible job with our yard, it looks better than it ever has! Everyone who comes over or drives by always comments on how great it looks. Jason is careful, service-oriented, and we really appreciate his attention to detail. Their regimen definitely works, and we couldn't be happier!
I am very pleased with Nature's Select® because (1) the grass on my lawn looks better than it has in years and (2) whenever I communicate a concern about a certain area of my lawn not looking like I think it should, Nature's Select® quickly responds. An example of how quickly: On Monday evening I sent a message to Matt about an area where grass wasn't growing and moss was still persisting in spite of lime having been applied, and at 8:01 a.m. the next morning I received a message from Matt telling me he'd been to my house and taken care of it. Given the early hour, I found that almost unbelievable, but I walked outside and saw that the soil had been churned and grass seed applied.
Thank you to Jeremy Warren for his service, listening to our needs and providing helpful solutions (ie. a dramatic change in our lawn's appearance this year and suggestions about treating Bermuda grass next June). Very personable and professional!
Nature's Select® Piedmont has worked on our lawn for 5 years and we couldn't be happier! We are constantly getting compliments on how good the grass looks, but more importantly, we have a beautiful and well maintained space for our dogs and toddler to safely run around. Our fur babies have never been sick from the products applied to the lawn which is a huge benefit of using NSP. NSP's efficient programs combined with Mother Nature's steady flow of resources will surely give you the best grass on the block (with a little time and patience, of course)!
Incredible transformation! My lawn was in very bad shape and overrun with weeds, but Nature's Select® lawn service completely saved it. They didn't just come in with your basic weed and feed; they came with a specific restoration plan that worked wonders. The lawn looks renewed, lush, and has definitely boosted our home's property value!
My grass is the best it's ever looked. You can definitely tell a difference from my yard to the neighbors!! Matt works hard on it!
Tajae's customer service exceeds expectations! One day in September I saw someone from Nature's Select® working at my neighbor's house and I went across the street to ask him if he was willing to offer advice on how to get rid of some stubborn weeds that had overtaken my backyard. He said he could come back with a tank sprayer and spray my entire yard for weeds at a reasonable price. I mentioned I planned to aerate and seed and he said I would need to wait 2 weeks after the spraying. When I called the office to schedule the spraying, I was told it would probably be the end of the next week. To my wonderful surprise, Tajae was at my house the next day spraying for weeds. With customer service like that, I decided to sign up for the yearly yard service and I continue to be impressed with Tajae's personal touch in answering my questions via call or text and look forward to continuing to work with him and Nature's Select®.
Many thanks to Matt at Nature's Select®. He does an awesome job with our lawn! Our grass has never looked better. He is so kind to call, text and keep us on schedule, so we stay ahead of issues that could develop. We are blessed to have him assigned to our area.
Jason does a great job not only taking care of the lawn, but in answering questions and following up with the treatments and seedings I need (without me needing to ask).
Matt at Nature's Select® is the best and my lawn has improved noticeably since they began treating my grass. It simplifies the process allowing me to put the time into my flower and shrub beds since I only have to mow.
Matt Newell (Service tech) that comes to service my lawn was professional, courteous, efficient, friendly. He addressed all my concerns.
I am very pleased with Nature's Select® lawn service. My grass looks the best ever. I appreciate the time the service persons spend here doing the work and answering questions. Jeremy is personal and does a good job in following up on calls and concerns.

The right choice depends on sun exposure, soil compaction, and how the property will be used. Tall fescue is the dominant cool-season choice in established Greensboro neighborhoods such as Irving Park, Sunset Hills, and Fisher Park. Bermudagrass dominates full-sun new construction and Summerfield-area properties. Zoysiagrass is increasingly popular for drought-tolerant residential lawns. Kentucky bluegrass blends often pair with fescue in HOA properties.
Brown patch peaks from May through August on tall fescue lawns, when nighttime temperatures remain above 65°F and humidity is high. Established Greensboro fescue properties see the most damage. The Triad office monitors brown patch pressure on every visit during the peak window and applies targeted fungicide at the lowest effective rate only when pressure crosses the treatment threshold.
