Nature's Select® delivers a year-round lawn care program for homeowners across the Triad, Triangle, and Sandhills. Each program covers weed control, seasonal fertilization, soil amendments, aeration, and overseeding when the season calls for it, plus targeted insect and disease control. We assign one technician to your property year-round. You receive confirmation after every visit, and your customized estimate the same day as your in-person assessment.

Customized year-round program covering weed control, seasonal fertilization, and biological soil amendment, focused on your soil profile so each visit lands when it will work best.
Aeration and overseeding for compacted soil, scheduled in fall for tall fescue and in spring for warm-season lawns
Targeted insect and disease control for the pressures North Carolina lawns actually see
One technician owns your property, with confirmation after every visit and your customized estimate the same day as your in-person assessment.
Nature's Select® lawn care covers a complete year-round program: weed control, seasonal fertilization, soil amendments, aeration and overseeding, lawn insect control, and lawn disease control across North Carolina.
Each program is built around your property and the grass type on it. The customized year-round schedule pairs the proprietary Nature's Select® Solutions blend with conventional lawn science. Pre-emergent applications are timed to soil temperature. Post-emergent identification and spot treatment happen as weeds break through. Biological soil amendments build the microbiology that holds water in the root zone. Aeration and overseeding land in fall for tall fescue and in summer for warm-season lawns. One technician owns your property across the year, fostering a relationship with each homeowner.
Pre-emergent applications go down in late winter and early spring to set up your lawn for the best success in summer. Crabgrass, an aggressive summer annual, is best managed by well-timed pre-emergent, which is why the program runs two windows set by soil temperature, late January through March and April through May, rather than a fixed calendar.
Each season presents new weed pressure. On every visit, your technician inspects, identifies, and treats weeds that are present. Healthy soil builds a healthy lawn, which over time means less dependency on chemical inputs.
Fertilization visits pair the biological soil amendment with targeted nutritional inputs at lower rates than a spray-and-go program would use. The soil microbiology you are building does part of the nitrogen cycling on its own, breaking down nutrients into a readily available state for your lawn to use, which means less product on the property and less runoff into the watershed.
Nature's Select® Solutions is the proprietary biological blend first developed for lawns in 1994 and refined across three decades. The formulation pairs living microbes with mineral and organic ingredients selected for North Carolina soils.
Cultural practice accounts for about a third of the result. The technician leaves mowing-height and watering-frequency guidance for the grass type on the property: 3.5+ inches for tall fescue, lower for warm-season lawns, and deep-and-infrequent watering for both.
Every visit is documented, and how you receive it is up to you. That may be an email, an invoice, or a yard sign left on the property showing the service performed, the date, and your technician's signature. Whichever you choose, you know what was done and what to expect before the next visit.
Within 48 hours of your request, a trained technician walks the property, identifies the grass type (tall fescue, bermuda, or zoysia in this region), and documents the baseline conditions. This visit is the first step in the program and the input to every following decision.
On the same day as the visit, you’ll receive a quote with pricing and a recommended program for the year. The year-round application sequence is scheduled around the date of your estimate and our current position in the yearly program.
After agreeing to your estimate, your first visit will be scheduled accordingly. Expected results vary by time of year and by the pressure on your lawn when the program starts.
Scheduled subsequent visits happen typically 4 to 8 weeks apart. Some seasonal windows are shorter than others, and weather conditions factor into our scheduling

At Nature's Select®, we combine science, innovation, and environmental responsibility to deliver exceptional biological lawn care. Our service is backed by our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. We'll gladly provide any necessary follow-up service at no additional cost to ensure your lawn meets our high standards.
The customized year-round program flexes with the soil and the weather. The exact applications and their timing depend on your grass type and location, so the technician tailors the schedule to your property. Here is what the program focuses on across the growing year in North Carolina.
The initial pre-emergent application provides your lawn with early-season protection against unseasonably warm weather. Proactively protecting your lawn from crabgrass while also mitigating late winter annual germination. Nature's Select® Biological Solution starts to build the microbial population of your soil.
Pre-emergent for crabgrass and broadleaf weed pressure, plus a biological soil amendment and a lower-rate fertilization to support green-up without forcing top growth ahead of root recovery.
Post-emergent weed control is applied to manage the weed pressure due to the rising temperatures. Nature's Select® Biological solution is applied to continue building microbiology and root development fertilizer.
Treatments shift to a lower-stress profile as cool-season fescue enters its hardest stretch. Calcium is added to your soil profile to balance pH. Technicians watch for insect and disease pressure.
Fall fertilization rebuilds what the summer took out of the lawn, feeding recovery while soil temperatures are still working in your favor. This is also the strongest window for core aeration and overseeding, which opens compacted soil and fills thin spots so the lawn heads into winter thicker and more resilient.
A root development fertilizer is applied to encourage deep root growth and rebuild reserves before winter.
The focused nitrogen fertilization that feeds your lawn through the winter, allowing it to hold its color.Soil-health reassessment and planning next year's program also happen around this visit.

We have worked with Nature's Select® for years. They have always been great at delivering spraying services to our trees and bushes to optimize growth and minimize harm. They are helpful if there are issues with your plant material and will investigate problems to try to resolve them. I highly recommend them.
The Nature's Select® Team have truly earned my 5-star rating. Rob and crew are tremendous professionals and even better people!
Thank you to Jeremy Warren for his service, listening to our needs and providing helpful solutions (ie. a dramatic change in our lawn's appearance this year and suggestions about treating Bermuda grass next June). Very personable and professional!
My grass is the best it's ever looked. You can definitely tell a difference from my yard to the neighbors!! Matt works hard on it!
Curtis has been my technician for several years. He is WONDERFUL. He always goes above and beyond. I've never seen him without a smile on his face
Highly recommend Nature's Select® Sandhills over any other lawn care services! Our yard looks amazing and all of our trouble weeds and low growth spots are taken care of. Two other neighbors have begun using their services because of the success we have had since using Nature's Select® Sandhills. You will be happy you called them!
Austin and Donald were at my house for about an hour. They did an amazing job seeding and aerating our yard. I look forward to seeing a lot of grass start to grow.
We started using Nature's Select® earlier this year and the service has been top notch. The team is very easy to communicate with, explains what they are doing and why. They are a level above any other landscape or lawn care service I have used before.
Nature's Select® is great to work with. The staff is extremely courteous, communicative, and expert at what they do!
Tracie from Nature's Select® was absolutely fantastic! She came out to help me address some insect issues in my yard, and I couldn't be happier with her service. Not only did she thoroughly spray and treat the area, but her extensive knowledge and expertise made me feel confident in the results. Tracie was incredibly pleasant, professional, and genuinely a breath of fresh air compared to others I've dealt with in this industry. I truly can't say enough great things about her and my overall experience. Highly recommend!
He always texts me to let me know when he's coming, and if our dog is out, he is very sweet to her and makes sure that she stays out of the way, or checks to see if we can put her up.

Biological lawn care is an approach that starts with the soil. It uses living microbes, organic matter (a soil science term for decomposed biological material), and biological inputs to build soil health before applying any synthetic inputs. Nature's Select® has used this approach in North Carolina since 1994.
The result is a lawn that holds color longer, recovers faster from heat and drought stress, and needs less synthetic and chemical input over time. Biological lawn care is not the same as commodity organic lawn care; the distinction is explained in the next question below.
Conventional lawn care starts with synthetic fertilizer and weed control. Nature's Select® starts with the soil. We enhance soil biology and design a customized year-round program that uses the proprietary Nature's Select® Solutions blend alongside conventional turf science.
The result is a resilient lawn that holds up between visits, not just on the day after a treatment. Conventional programs rebuild the same problem every spring. Biological programs build the lawn that solves the problem.
No. Biological lawn care is a soil-first approach built around living microbes and the proprietary Nature's Select® Solutions blend. It can include conventional synthetic inputs applied at the lowest effective rates where the agronomy calls for them.
Commodity organic lawn care can mean many things, because in lawn care, there is no governing body, including the USDA, that regulates the standards for "organic." An "organic" label also does not guarantee a gentle product, since some organic-labeled inputs carry toxicity comparable to conventional herbicides. "Natural lawn care" is a marketing phrase used inconsistently across the industry. Nature's Select® uses EPA-approved inputs and does not market itself as organic; the biological label describes what the program does at the soil level.
Each visit pairs the proprietary Nature's Select® Solutions biological blend with targeted weed control and fertilization. Across the year, the program addresses the essential needs of your lawn and landscape with macro- and micro-nutrient feedings, weed control, and soil amendments designed to create long-term plant health. Application dates flex with the weather rather than a fixed calendar.
Your estimate is always free, with no obligation. Most North Carolina homeowners pay between $80 and $250 per month for a year-round professional lawn care program, with pricing driven by your lot size and your lawn's needs. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all formula, Nature's Select® provides pricing following your complimentary on-property assessment, so your quote reflects the unique needs of your lawn.
Your written quote is provided the day of your in-person assessment. Free estimate: (888) 786-9735.
The best time to start lawn care is now. Each day your lawn and landscape pull available nutrients from the soil for survival. Every day without replenishing your soil is a day closer to lawn and plant damage.
Early spring applications allow your lawn to be best prepared for aggressive summer annuals like crabgrass. That said, our applications support productive results regardless of the season. Your lawn picks up with our program based on when the property is enrolled.
Visible improvement on most lawns begins within the first two to four weeks after the first application, and biological soil changes continue throughout the first year. Customers typically see the strongest results in the second growing season, once the soil microbiology has cycled through a full year of weather.
The year-round program is designed to compound results across seasons, not to deliver a one-shot treatment.
The Nature's Select® program uses biological inputs, the proprietary Nature's Select® Solutions blend, and conventional lawn science applied at lower rates of synthetic and chemical inputs than a typical lawn program. Specific re-entry windows after each application are confirmed by the technician on site, who can answer any property-specific questions before treatment.
